Do not deceive yourselves; no one makes a fool of God. A person will reap exactly what he plants. —Galatians 6:7 (GNT)

Beloved, as you grow in your relationship with God, one thing you must avoid at all costs is evil. Why? Because evil has consequences, and since your actions and choices have consequences too, you must act wisely and choose carefully. God calls you to live righteously, not because He wants to deprive you of enjoyment, but because His ways lead you toward what is good and right.

Unfortunately, some people believe they can continue doing evil without facing the consequences of their actions. They lie, cheat, deceive others, and deliberately cause harm while assuming that everything will eventually work out in their favor. However, the Bible teaches that the things we sow through our actions can produce consequences in our lives and relationships.

Someone might ask, “But why do some people seem to prosper even when they do evil?” You must understand that consequences do not always appear immediately, and not every outcome is visible to us. Some people may escape immediate accountability, but that does not make wrongdoing right. God’s Word calls you to look beyond temporary advantages and consider the lasting effects of your choices. Remember, the Bible says:

Evil people will not go unpunished, but those who obey the LORD will be safe. —Proverbs 11:21 (GNT)

This reminds you that righteousness matters, even when you do not immediately see justice. At the same time, you should not assume that every hardship someone experiences is punishment for a particular sin. Some hardship comes from the different seasons people must go through. However, you must make sure your actions do not become a contributing factor in times of difficulty.

Therefore, make a conscious decision to turn away from evil and choose what is right. Be honest in your dealings, treat people with respect, and refuse to take advantage of others for personal gain.

When you make a mistake, do not try to hide behind excuses. Acknowledge your wrongdoing, seek forgiveness, make amends where possible, and learn from the experience. Remember that God’s grace offers forgiveness and the opportunity to change, but it should never become an excuse to continue doing what is wrong.
