Lately, when the topic of money comes up in church, many people do not get excited because they feel someone is just after their money. Little do they know that the best advice anyone can ever receive is on how to become a better giver. It might not always seem appealing, but it is a lesson everyone needs to learn. There is a profound connection between the money you give to God’s work or charity and your overall well-being. Although it remains a mystery that no one fully understands, giving is a spiritual law—a principle that always produces results when engaged.
The Bible clearly states, “…the ransom for a man’s life is his wealth…” —Proverbs 13:8 (AMP). This means your wealth can literally save your life in various situations, provided you learn to give freely rather than hoarding your money. Life operates on principles; until you engage these principles, you will not see the results they are meant to generate. Therefore, be open to giving. Do not let the enemy trick you into thinking that sowing seeds is a bad idea, and avoid being someone who only loves to receive but refuses to give.
Be encouraged to give frequently. Learn to give to God, support His work, and never forget the poor—both inside and outside the church. Why? Because every time you do this, you are putting Scripture to work, and the resulting blessings are guaranteed. Remember, the Bible says, “Give to others, and God will give to you. Indeed, you will receive a full measure, a generous helping, poured into your hands—all that you can hold. The measure you use for others is the one that God will use for you.” —Luke 6:38 (GNT). Praise God!
