“People may plan all kinds of things, but the Lord’s will is going to be done.” —Proverbs 19:21 (GNT)
One of the key principles that will help you succeed in life is planning. A person who plans will not easily face disappointment or defeat. Planning brings focus and helps you channel your strength in the right direction. However, as good as planning is, you must learn to plan with God’s will in mind. You need to build your plans around what He desires for your life.
One of the biggest mistakes people make is planning without God’s will in mind. Many do not even think it is necessary to seek His guidance. People often shy away from discovering God’s will because they suspect His desires will conflict with their own. Consequently, they plan according to their selfish interests rather than God’s design. This is why so many struggle—their plans simply do not align with His purpose for their lives.
Beloved, if you truly want to live a fulfilled life and stop running in circles, you must plan according to God’s will. If you plan outside of His will, you will lack the grace needed to excel in your endeavors. However, when you keep God’s will in mind, you set yourself up for true success. His grace to flourish and blossom will be readily available to you. Even when you face difficulties, you will still overcome because He provides the strength to pull through.
I encourage you today to make a habit of planning with God’s will in mind. First, earnestly seek to know His purpose for your life, and then formulate your plans accordingly. Remember what the Scripture says:
“There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand.” —Proverbs 19:21 (NKJV)
Keep this truth in your heart as you step out. When you align your plans with God’s counsel, you will avoid wasting your time pursuing the wrong purposes.
