Love under setting sun

“Good sense makes a man restrain his anger, and it is his glory to overlook a transgression or an offense.” —Proverbs 19:11 (AMPC)

In the first part of this article, we established why you should manifest the love of God instead of offense. Understanding this truth is vital because of what offense represents in the spiritual realm. Beloved, offense is a dangerous door that gives the enemy access to manipulate you in unimaginable ways. The devil knows that when you harbor an offense, you drop your guard, giving him a legal foothold to push you into actions you would ordinarily avoid.

Sadly, many believers do not realize this danger. When the enemy pushes them toward bitterness, they fail to recognize his strategy quickly enough. They allow themselves to become offended, and by the time they realize what is happening, they have already gone too far.

A vivid example of this is the story of Cain and Abel. Both brothers brought an offering to the Lord, but God accepted Abel’s offering while rejecting Cain’s. Instead of asking God why his offering was unacceptable, Cain became deeply offended and began plotting to kill his brother. Do you think Cain would have gone to such extremes if he were not under a dark influence? Absolutely not. A demonic influence stepped through the open door of offense and took full advantage of him. God explicitly warned him about this:

“…Why are you angry? Why that scowl on your face? If you had done the right thing, you would be smiling; but because you have done evil, sin is crouching at your door. It wants to rule you, but you must overcome it.” —Genesis 4:6-7 (GNT)

Did you see that? Sadly, Cain ignored God’s clear warning and murdered his brother anyway. He fell because an evil influence had gained complete access to his heart through the doorway of offense.

If you want your life to be different, you must make a conscious decision to guard your heart against offense. Do not allow satanic forces to gain a foothold and manipulate you into wrongdoing. Instead, let the love of God override your hurt and choose to move forward. By doing this, you close the door to the enemy and remain aligned with God’s will. Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

If you do not guard against offense, you will open a door in your life that will give access to demonic influences that will manipulate you negatively!

Prayer

Father, I am so grateful for opening my eyes to this truth. I choose this day to manifest love and not offense. I choose to manifest patience and not strife, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
