So then, submit yourselves to God. Resist the Devil, and he will run away from you. —James 4:7 (GNT)

Over the years, I’ve realized that many believers today struggle with submission to God. While they’ve confessed Jesus as the Lord of their lives, they aren’t always willing to lay down everything for Him. They still want to call the shots and lead their own lives rather than following the path God has set. Beloved, this isn’t a life of submission; it’s a life of subtle rebellion. Living outside of God’s commands isn’t profitable for you.

God wants you to live differently and be submissive in your walk with Him because that’s where your blessing lies. The Bible says, …God resists the proud, but shows favor to the humble. Humble yourselves, then, under God’s mighty hand, so that he will lift you up in his own good time. —1 Peter 5:5-6 (GNT). Do you want to be resisted by God or lifted by Him? It’s far better to be lifted by Him, but this requires submission to His leadership, His commands, and His Word.

Whoever walks this path will have much to testify about in life. Make a conscious decision today to submit to His authority. Stop trying to do things your own way; instead, learn what God has said and submit to it. Refuse to join those who argue with everything God says. They try to use reasoning and logic to follow Him, but faith doesn’t work that way.

God hasn’t called us to argue with Him but to submit to Him. Don’t find yourself on a path where you’re struggling against God or where He is resisting your pride. Choose to submit today and watch your life move from glory to glory. Hallelujah!
