Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. —John 4:34 (KJV)
In our opening text, we see that Jesus was quick to define His mission and purpose on earth. He confidently declared that His true nourishment was to do the will of the Father and finish His work. While in the body as a man, Jesus understood His purpose and never took His eyes off His assignment. He spoke about it, acted accordingly, and ultimately accomplished His mission. Beloved, we ought to keep our eyes on our mission in the exact same way so we can accomplish it, too.
Sadly, this is often not the case. Today, many Christians have taken their eyes off their assignments, and some cannot even define what their purpose is. To make matters worse, others know God has given them a specific task, but they are simply too busy to attend to it. They have no real intention of finishing the work they were called to do.
This shouldn’t be the case for you. I am writing to you today to remind you that you have a specific assignment and a mission to accomplish in Christ Jesus. While it might not be what everyone wants to hear, it is the truth. There is a clear call upon your life. You must understand that the salvation of many hangs on you focusing on your assignment and finishing it.
Stop living as though you are just an ordinary person, because you are not. Stop living as if you have no one to answer to; one day, you will answer to God for what He sent you to do and how well you accomplished it. Beloved, it is time to define your purpose in the kingdom of God. It is time to focus on your assignment and reach those whose salvation is tied directly to your obedience. You must recognize who sent you and exactly what He called you to do.
It is time to do the work of the One who sent you and to see it through to the end. Be like the Apostle Paul, who said, …necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel! —1 Corinthians 9:16 (NKJV). When you take your assignment seriously, many will receive salvation simply because you said yes, and you will be rewarded for your faithfulness. So, get to work and give your calling the attention it requires. God bless you.

Prayer
Gracious and All-Powerful God! I thank You for all that You have done in my life. I thank You for counting me worthy and trusting me to do Your work. I thank You because doing Your work, oh God, is a true privilege, and I am honored to receive it. I declare that I am focused. I understand the purpose of my life, I accept my mission from You, and I declare that nothing will stop me from finishing it in Jesus’ name. Amen.
