The question in today’s devotional is a tough one, but it demands our serious consideration: Who are you living for? Is it God, your career, yourself, or society? While this question may sound straightforward, it forces us to evaluate where our ultimate devotion lies. Today, many people live solely for personal ambition, societal approval, or professional success. Nothing else seems to matter to them—not even the God who gave them life.
They live as free moral agents, indifferent to God and His plans for their lives and the world. Nothing regarding spiritual matters moves them. Yet, when it comes to satisfying their own desires, pleasing society, or impressing their boss, they spare no effort. They invest everything into worldly pursuits, but tune out whenever God is mentioned. Many have even been conditioned to view spiritual responsibilities as a burden. However, this self-centered lifestyle is a dangerous path, and it is far from what God intended for us.
The Bible says, “Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.” — Luke 17:33 (NKJV)
The best way to save your life is to follow God and live entirely for Him. When you dedicate your life to the Lord, you become the primary beneficiary, remaining far beyond the reach of the enemy. Satan often gains the upper hand over believers and leaves them feeling hopeless because they choose to live for themselves. They chase after money, status, and worldly gains—pursuits that ultimately lead to sorrow and regret.
As Scripture warns, “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” — 1 Timothy 6:10 (NKJV)
However, when you choose to live for God, everything you truly need comes as a natural result. As Jesus said, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” — Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)
I encourage you today to live intentionally for God for the rest of your life. Let your daily decisions and choices revolve around your walk with Him, and involve Him in everything you do. Living this way preserves your life, brings you honor, and positions you among princes. It frustrates every plan of the wicked and empowers you to overcome life’s circumstances. Praise God!

Father, I am grateful for helping me understand Your Word deeply. Today, I choose to live entirely for You. I refuse to live for self, for society, or for the approval of men, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
