“And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch.”” — Genesis 6:13–14 (NKJV)

Many generations ago, when human wickedness reached its peak, God told Noah to build an ark because He was going to destroy the earth with a flood. Upon receiving this instruction, Noah immediately went to work. He didn’t doubt God or delay taking action. While anyone else might have questioned the command or assumed God would never destroy the world, Noah didn’t waste time overthinking. Instead, he simply obeyed and built the ark.

If Noah had refused to build the ark, he and his family would have perished along with everyone else. However, Noah chose to obey. As Scripture records, “Thus Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did.” — Genesis 6:22 (NKJV)

When the time came, God instructed Noah to enter the ark. True to the Lord’s word, waters poured from the sky and burst from the depths of the earth. Everyone who failed to enter the ark perished, while Noah, his family, and the animals were preserved. They survived simply because Noah chose to obey the Lord, even when a global flood seemed unimaginable.

Beloved, every time you obey the Lord, you build a protective ark for yourself. Your obedience will eventually preserve and promote you. Therefore, take your walk of obedience seriously and seek to grow in it every single day. Stop resisting God’s directives, because resistance never produces good fruit. Obedience doesn’t diminish your life; it exalts you.

Until you obey, you cannot reach certain realms of glory. In most cases, everything you trust and believe God for lies on the other side of your obedience. Abraham was already blessed, but stepping into an even greater dimension of blessing required complete obedience (Genesis 22:15–18). You can experience this same reality if you align with the instructions God gives you regarding your life, finances, marriage, career, and family.

Ask yourself today: what has God been calling you to do? Stop ignoring His voice and choose to obey Him now. As you step out in faith, you will surely return with powerful testimonies. Praise God!
