Studying Bible with Arrows

“After all, we don’t want to unwittingly give Satan an opening for yet more mischief—we’re not oblivious to his sly ways.” – 2 Corinthians 2:11 (MSG)

In the book of Daniel, chapter ten, we read about a revelation Daniel received that left him seeking further understanding. He committed to fasting and praying for twenty-one days to gain insight. At the end of this period, an angel appeared to him and explained that from the very first day Daniel set his heart to pray, God heard him and sent an angel with the answers. However, the prince of Persia—a demonic force—resisted the angel for twenty-one days until Michael, one of the chief princes, came to assist (Daniel 10:1-12). This account highlights the reality of demonic resistance. If Daniel had stopped praying after a week, he might not have received his answer. But his persistence led to angelic reinforcement, showing us that demonic activities are indeed real, even if some people choose to ignore them.

As Christians, we must recognize this reality and act accordingly so we don’t fall victim to the enemy’s schemes. How, then, can we guard ourselves against these activities? The key lies in taking our Christian walk seriously. We can’t outsmart the devil if we’re complacent. Unfortunately, some people have grown lax in attending church, studying the Scriptures, praying, fasting, and sowing seeds, yet they expect divine protection from demonic interference. Without these spiritual disciplines in place, we become vulnerable to manipulation. Therefore, we must commit to a fervent Christian life. This is the only way to shield ourselves from the enemy’s activities and agenda.

So make a conscious decision to deepen your relationship with God. Victory over demonic interference is found in spiritual fervor. Remember, the Bible says, “…fervent in spirit, serving the Lord, rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer…” – Romans 12:11-12 (NKJV). Hallelujah!
