“…O God, do not keep silent; do not be quiet…” —Psalm 83:1 (GNB)
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you pray repeatedly, yet God seems far away? Perhaps you have reached a point where it feels like your prayers are falling on deaf ears, or you feel completely abandoned because He is not answering your cries. You are not alone. These seasons happen, but how you respond and interpret God’s silence determines the outcome. Some people never recover from these moments because they yield to the devil’s deception, ultimately walking away from their faith.
Your case will be different. To handle this season properly, you must first understand that God’s silence does not mean abandonment. Even though the enemy wants you to believe you have been forsaken, you must hold firmly to Scripture. As God promised, “…Can a woman forget her own baby and not love the child she bore? Even if a mother should forget her child, I will never forget you.” —Isaiah 49:15 (GNB)
Even if God seems silent, He has neither abandoned nor forgotten you. Secondly, when you face this situation, do not abandon your faith in frustration, but choose to stay close to Him. Often, when God is quiet, He is working out something great on your behalf. This is the moment to increase your faith and wait expectantly for the miracle He is preparing for your life. Do not run away from Him; run to Him.
Thirdly, set your heart right and refuse the temptation to be angry with God. No matter how the devil tries to provoke you, maintain a joyful heart toward your Heavenly Father. He is not responsible for your predicament and should not be held accountable for it.
Fourthly, stick to the basic principles you have learned from God’s Word. As simple as they may seem, they hold the key to your progress. The same Word that brought you salvation can bring you anything else you desire. Just stay grounded in Scripture and apply its principles.
Finally, pray and trust God more, not less. The enemy will always try to make you feel discouraged by attacking your prayer life, but you must remember that God is with you. His silence does not mean He has forsaken you; it simply means He is strategizing on your behalf. If you apply these principles, you will certainly come out of this situation victoriously. God bless you!
