“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.” — Galatians 6:7-8 (NKJV)

Recently, I was pondering why some people experience continuous pain, sorrow, and disappointment, while others enjoy blissful and peaceful lives. After I reflected on this for a long time, the Holy Spirit whispered to me, saying that a man’s lifestyle will always determine his life story. This phrase shocked me because I had never heard it before. When I looked deeper into that statement, I finally understood why some people go through life feeling disappointed and wounded. I realized that their circumstances were not a mistake, but often a reflection of their lifestyle.

Whether we like it or not, this is an absolute truth: the way a man lives will always tell on his life story. To better understand this, we must examine what a lifestyle truly entails at this point in your journey. Your lifestyle, beloved, is a combination of how you live, think, act, and conduct your affairs. It also consists of your perspective, your speech, and the beliefs you choose to hold. As small as these things may seem, they go a long way in shaping who you are and who you will become.

In fact, the entire outcome of your life is encapsulated in these daily habits. Therefore, you must ask yourself: who are you outside of church? Who are you in your workplace? Who are you when you are inside your house? The answers to these questions hold the key to either your progress or your retrogression. You must become mindful of your lifestyle and choices because they ultimately dictate your experiences.

Begin making amends today. Change how you perceive matters, and transform the way you think and talk. Most importantly, change how you live and the actions you take, and everything about your life will change for the better. Praise God!
