Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. —James 1:17 (NKJV)

In the opening scripture, the Word of God reveals that every good thing comes from God, the Father of lights. This means whatever we consider evil or bad does not come from God but from the devil. Consequently, poverty and all the chaos it brings do not come from God. We can understand this easily by studying Job’s life in the Bible. He was a very wealthy man who had everything he could possibly need. One day, however, the devil accused him before God, claiming that if Job lost everything, he would curse God.

We see this interaction clearly in the book of Job: So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing? Have you not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But now, stretch out your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!” —Job 1:9-11 (NKJV). The devil authored and orchestrated all the evil that befell Job. God only permitted the trial; He did not cause it.

The devil, the mastermind of evil, struck Job with his favorite attack: poverty. This attack completely altered the course of Job’s life, causing him to lose his children and all his possessions in a single day. Having seen this biblical account, we can know beyond a doubt that poverty comes from the devil, not from God. It is a tool the enemy uses to attack the people God loves. Therefore, as Christians, we must not allow poverty to creep into our lives, nor should we accept it as a normal human suffering.

No Christian needs to suffer through poverty to prove their love for God. When you understand that poverty comes from the devil and not from God, you realize it is something to fight against, not accept. Do not give poverty any room in your life because you have absolutely no reason to be poor. Jesus died for you, and when He did, He gave you everything He has, including wealth. All that God requires of you now is to understand and walk in the kingdom principles of wealth and prosperity. Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

Prosperity is from God, but poverty is from the devil!

Confession for the Day

I declare that I will walk and live in prosperity every day of my life. Poverty has no place in my life. The devil and his evil agenda concerning my finances and future will not succeed because I am a child of God, born with grace and born to always succeed. Amen!
