Personalize Your Relationship With Jesus

Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. — Luke 10:38-39 (KJV)

Beloved, I have taken time to study the lifestyle of Jesus, and I discovered that He loves personal relationships. He would love to have one with you. He does all He can to help you know Him better, warming up to you so you can see who He really is. For example, He reached out to Nathanael and completely changed his life.

When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, “Here truly is an Israelite in whom there is no deceit.” “How do you know me?” Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, “I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you.” — John 1:47-48 (NIV)

Jesus didn’t leave Nathanael to try and figure out who He was in the crowd. Instead, He extended a hand to make him feel comfortable. He does the exact same thing for every one of us.

Another time, a man named Zacchaeus desperately wanted to know who Jesus was. Because he was short and couldn’t see over the large crowd, he climbed a tree just to get a glimpse of Him. Jesus noticed Zacchaeus up in that tree and gave him special attention.

When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” — Luke 19:5 (NIV)

Zacchaeus was so overjoyed that he became an entirely new person from that day forward. This account, along with many others, shows us the kind of person Jesus is.

This brings me to an important question: What kind of relationship do you have with Jesus? Have you gotten personal with Him? Jesus wants to sit and dine with you. He wants to have a one-on-one conversation with you so you can know Him more deeply.

He wants you to discover Him beyond the written pages of the Bible. There are so many wonderful things to learn about Jesus, and only a close, personal relationship with Him will help you discover them. Make a conscious decision today to know Him deeper than you do right now. Get close to Him, because that is truly what He wants from you. Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

Don’t be distant from the Lord; He wants a close relationship!

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for helping me understand the importance of getting to know my Lord and Savior better. Therefore, I declare that a special place for the Lord is created in my heart. Because of this, I will make deliberate efforts to give more time and attention to getting to know Him who has brought me life. Praise God!
