Turning the page of a Bible

“To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.” — Titus 1:15 (NIV)

Beloved, when it comes to your mind, what are you feeding it? Did you know that your mind actually eats? If you didn’t know, I’m telling you now. Your mind is like a stomach, and what you expose it to matters a lot. Understand this: the stomach eats food and the body drinks water, but the mind feeds on information.

Just as food helps us grow and develop, the information we expose our minds to shapes us positively or negatively. For instance, a person who feeds only on negative information will develop a mindset that struggles to believe in positive outcomes. They’ll likely think negatively and become more carnally minded.

Unfortunately, many people gather their knowledge exclusively from newspapers, television news, social media, and blogs. Others rely on movies or academic research. While staying current with daily events isn’t wrong, the truth remains that whatever you consistently feed your mind will eventually take root.

This constant stream of information forms your character and attitude, which eventually reflects in how you respond to life and other people. The information you gather builds your persona. Think of information as food for the soul; it satisfies your mind, and since your mind is the gateway to your spirit, that information eventually reaches your inner man.

If you aren’t careful with what you allow your mind to receive, you’ll end up feeding your spirit the wrong things. Unhealthy spiritual “food” hinders your spirit’s potency, while the right food enhances it. When you face complicated issues, a well-fed spirit will be strong enough to uphold you when you need it most. — Proverbs 18:14 (NKJV)

Take heed and ensure your spirit man is well-fed. Avoid information that pollutes your inner life. As custodians of the gift of life, we must tend to what God has given us and keep it safe. Don’t endanger your well-being with unnecessary information; instead, feed on the Word of God and faith-filled materials.

Expose yourself to materials that enhance the potency of your spirit rather than reducing its power. Remember what the Bible says: “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” — Philippians 4:8 (NKJV)

Today’s Rhema

Don’t pollute your mind with the wrong information!

Confession for the Day

I declare that as a pure child of the holy God, I will only allow pure things into my mind and spirit. I will not give my mind over to negative things that have the ability to pollute me. Amen!
