Portrait of a man with an exploding mind

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. — Luke 6:45 (NKJV)

As a believer, you must be mindful of what goes into your heart on a daily basis. What you allow into your heart forms your thoughts, and eventually, those thoughts form your words. The Bible says:

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. — Luke 6:45 (NKJV)

The mouth speaks out of the abundance of the heart. Once you understand this, you must become deliberate about what you expose your heart to.

Many believers today do not realize how important this is. They consume all manner of information and worldly entertainment, unaware that what they innocently expose themselves to acts as a seed. Over time, this seed begins to germinate in their lives. If the information you consume instills fear and insecurity, it takes root in your heart. It slowly grows until it starts controlling your thoughts and your words.

To avoid this negative cycle, you must deliberately expose yourself to the right information. The absolute best source of truth is the word of God. When you immerse yourself in Scripture, it shapes your thoughts, your consciousness, and ultimately, your words. This is why the Apostle Paul said:

So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified. — Acts 20:32 (NKJV)

Be encouraged, therefore, to expose yourself to the right materials. Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

What you allow into your heart determines your thoughts, contemplations, and consciousness, which eventually dictate your words!

Prayer

Father, I am grateful for this inspiring truth. I receive the grace to continually expose myself to Your word. As I do this, I am built up in the right direction, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
