“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” — 1 Peter 4:10 (NKJV)
After many years of walking with the Lord, what can you say you have done—and are still doing—for God and His kingdom? As simple as this question sounds, it reveals where your true heart and loyalty lie. Over the years, I have seen many long-time believers who have never done anything significant for the kingdom, nor do they plan to start. They are content simply attending church and making demands of God, without any desire to serve Him or give back.
Interestingly, these same individuals expect great things from God. Yet when their desires are not met, they quickly criticize Him and His house. They give up on God and speak poorly about churches, but this is not how He intended us to live.
Beloved, you were not saved to remain idle in Christ or to become a spiritual liability. You were saved to be an asset to the kingdom, which begins when you look for ways to actively serve God. He relies on people to carry out His plan of salvation for humanity. Angels will not come down to do this work; God chooses to work through you and me.
If you are unwilling to serve God, how can He fulfill His plans for the people in your sphere of influence? Therefore, consider doing something of genuine value for the Lord. Use your strength and resources to advance the kingdom and accelerate His plan of salvation. When you serve God faithfully, you build an ark for yourself that preserves your life in days to come, because whatever we do for Him ultimately comes back to bless us.
Remember the story of Papa Abraham. He followed and served God wholeheartedly, doing whatever God required, and God rewarded him abundantly. Likewise, Nehemiah chose to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem out of pure love and passion for the Lord. Though he was formerly the king’s cupbearer (Nehemiah 1:11), Nehemiah eventually became governor (Nehemiah 5:14). When you genuinely make yourself available to God and serve His purposes, He positions you among princes!
Therefore, make a conscious decision today to start serving God. Don’t ask, “Where do I start?” Begin right where you are, do what you can, and grow from there. Praise God!

Father, I am grateful for this wonderful insight. I declare that the wisdom and grace to do something meaningful for Your kingdom are at work in me, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
