“…speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord…”Ephesians 5:19 (NKJV)

One of the lost arts in the Body of Christ today is the practice of making melodies in the heart to the Lord. While it may sound unfamiliar to many, it’s a deeply spiritual and biblical principle that has the power to enrich our walk with God. Unfortunately, because many believers don’t know what it means or how to do it, they miss out on the spiritual benefits it brings.

Beloved, if you want your life to carry a constant flow of the anointing, learn to make melodies in your heart to the Lord. If you desire to experience a greater manifestation of the Holy Spirit or draw the tangible presence of God into your life, this practice must become part of your daily rhythm.

The Bible clearly states, “…do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord…” (Ephesians 5:18–19 NKJV). Did you see that? Being filled with the Spirit isn’t a mystery—it’s rooted in a heart that’s continually lifted in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. These melodies aren’t always vocal; they are songs of praise and worship that resonate in your heart, creating a spiritual atmosphere God delights to dwell in. As Psalm 22:3 reminds us, “God inhabits the praises of His people.”

Make it your habit to maintain this melody within you. Sometimes it will require intention; other times, the Holy Spirit will spontaneously stir a song within your spirit. When He does, pay attention—it may be a message, a reminder, or a divine reassurance. These songs aren’t just melodies; they are spiritual communications and moments of encounter.

So, let your heart become a sanctuary of praise. Let worship flow internally even when you aren’t singing aloud. As you cultivate this habit, you will disrupt every plan of the enemy and enforce God’s will in your life. Hallelujah!
