Hands together in praying to God along with the holy bible book

For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. —Romans 15:4 (NKJV)

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where your strength is fading, wondering if you can keep pressing on? If so, you are certainly not alone. Many people face overwhelming challenges, but you must learn how to handle these moments before you break down completely. Tragically, some people have even lost all hope and taken their own lives, which ultimately solves nothing.

To avoid this kind of despair, you must respond to hardship differently. The best way to overcome life’s hurdles is by drawing strength from the Scriptures. While this might sound too simple to be true, it is the absolute truth. The challenge is that many believers do not take the Word seriously enough, failing to realize that the solutions to life’s problems are hidden within its pages. Because God has a specific word for every situation we face, no one has to walk in ignorance.

You must understand that the comfort and strength needed to overcome any obstacle lie in the Scriptures. The Amplified Bible expands on Romans 15:4 beautifully: For whatever was thus written in former days was written for our instruction, that by [our steadfast and patient] endurance and the encouragement [drawn] from the Scriptures we might hold fast to and cherish hope. Do you see the purpose here? The Scriptures were intentionally given to strengthen us and help us maintain our hope in difficult seasons.

Therefore, I admonish you today to take God’s Word seriously. Make a deliberate choice to draw strength from the Scriptures whenever you are feeling down. Instead of giving in to despair, turn to the Bible for your answers. Let the Scriptures be a constant source of strength and comfort to you.
