“…I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference…” Revelation 3:19 (NLT)
Having established the importance of learning from your mistakes, you might ask, how do I get better? Well, you can begin by identifying the previous mistakes that were made. I discovered that many people don’t even realize their mistakes. So, they end up going in that direction over and over again. It’s like a child who keeps making the same mistakes again and again. When you try to caution them, they may stop and before long, return to the same act because they are not aware that what they are doing is wrong. They end up making that same mistake again and again. So, the first thing you must do is identify the mistakes you are making. Secondly, identify the lessons learnt from these mistakes. When you are able to the lessons, it becomes an experience that you can use to do better the next time.
Finally, learn new things, be open to new ideas, and study the pros and cons of what you want to get into before getting into it. Ask for expert ideas on your missions and new projects, and most importantly, seek the direction and guidance of the Holy Spirit because He knows all things and will teach you new things. This is one area where many people don’t think it is important but trust me, the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to point out the mistakes you have made and teach you how to correct them. He is able to open your eyes so that you can see the areas you need to work on. I have depended on Him for guidance over the years and He has always come through. You too can do the same and be sure to receive guidance from Him. With the Holy Spirit, you will get better and be empowered to stop making the same mistakes over and over again. So, lean on Him for guidance and watch what He will do with your life. Praise God!
