But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. — James 1:25 (NKJV)
Do you desire a glorious and blameless walk with God? Do you want to be fruitful in your Christian journey? If your answer is yes, then you must commit to studying the Scriptures frequently. Most importantly, when you study, you must never forget what you have read. By remembering the Word, you can put it into practice and unlock the blessings attached to it.
Unfortunately, many people neglect studying the Scriptures entirely. Even among those who do read, many quickly forget what they saw, which prevents the transformation that should follow biblical knowledge. This stagnation occurs because they ignore a vital component of effective study: retention. If you do not remember the Word, you cannot apply it to your life or circumstances.
Beloved, if you want the Scriptures to truly transform your life, you must make a conscious decision to remember what you read. You cannot put the Word to work if it has slipped from your mind. Our opening text highlights that the person who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it—not being a forgetful hearer but a doer—is the one who is blessed. This consistency is the key to spiritual growth.
The next time you sit down to study, do so with a clear intention to remember. When you retain the message and act upon it, you activate the transformational power of the Word in your life. You will find yourself blessed in everything you do because you are operating on divine instructions. Praise God for the power of His living Word!
