“And Nathanael said to him, ‘Can anything good come out of Nazareth?’ Philip said to him, ‘Come and see.'” — John 1:46 (NKJV)
When Nathanael heard that a prophet was from Nazareth, he couldn’t believe it. He assumed nothing good could come from such a place. Maybe you’ve had similar experiences, where people look down on you, calling you names or saying you’re good for nothing. They might even dismiss your ideas, labeling them as useless. Perhaps you’ve given up on yourself, your marriage, your career, or even on loved ones. But cheer up! Something beautiful is about to come out of you.
The world was once in complete darkness, but out of that darkness, light came forth. When the light appeared, beauty and glory followed. Even if you feel as though nothing good can come from your life, you are wrong. You may be in a season where nothing seems to be happening, and it feels like you’re insignificant. But think again. Even the wastebasket has its uses, helping to keep things in order. People need it and even pay for it.
If something as simple as a wastebasket has a purpose, then you must realize that everyone, including you, has a purpose. You have a light within you that can brighten the world. So, stop thinking you’re insignificant. Stop believing you can’t achieve greatness. God knew you, and chose you.
Don’t give up on yourself or your situation. No matter how bleak it seems, something new can come from what appears old or broken. That failing business can come back to life. That struggling marriage can be restored. There’s light even in the darkest situations. It’s your responsibility to find that light and let it shine on you. Praise God!
Today’s Rhema
God has destined you for greatness. If you believe it and walk in the light of it, it will surely happen, regardless of where you are now!
Confession for the Day
Dear Father, I thank You for the light You have created to shine in every corner of our lives. I see the light now. I’m not quitting on myself, and I’m not quitting on anything. The light is coming out, and it’s shining brightly. Hallelujah!
