“…If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23 NKJV)
In the first part of this article, we spoke extensively on how beliefs shape your destiny. Now, someone might argue that this isn’t entirely true because other factors impact people’s lives negatively or positively. Well, the truth remains that the impact of any factor in people’s lives, whether negative or positive, ultimately stems from their belief system. So, at the end of the day, it still boils down to what a person believes.
For example, some years ago I met a lady who had decided never to marry again because of a terrible experience in her previous marriage. She had been in an abusive marriage, which tragically led to the loss of her pregnancy at that time. She was so pained and traumatized that she concluded true love no longer exists. Does that sound familiar? Have you noticed many men and women out there who have reached similar conclusions? Often, the reason is a bad experience they had. The question is, are they right? Is it true that real love no longer exists? The answer is No.
Beloved, true love still exists, but unfortunately, negative experiences can lead people to believe the wrong thing. This is why, no matter the experiences you have had, you should never allow them to become the foundation of your beliefs. The only foundation for your beliefs as a Christian should be the Word of God. It is for this reason the Apostle Paul admonished believers, saying, And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2 NKJV).
Why? Because when your mind is renewed by the Word, you will believe the right thing, no matter the experiences you face or the worldly systems you find yourself in. The Word of God is what makes the difference. When you choose to believe God and His Word, irrespective of your experiences, you will ultimately produce the results the Word of God describes. Therefore, renew your mind, believe only the Word, and let it shape your beliefs. Hallelujah!

Confession for the day
Eternal King of Glory, I thank you for reminding me of the importance of believing the right thing. I choose to believe Your Word and to act on it daily. And as I do this, it is producing the right outcome in my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
