And so I say to you: Ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For those who ask will receive, and those who seek will find, and the door will be opened to anyone who knocks. —Luke 11:9-10 (GNT)
There are some remarkable statements Jesus made that must not be taken lightly. One of those is in our opening text: “Ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you…” (Luke 11:9-10, GNT). The question is, do you believe this? If your answer is yes, then why are you not taking advantage of it?
For many years, I read this part of the Bible and felt it was just one of those statements, so it never really came home to me. However, one day the Holy Spirit asked me, “Do you really believe that statement?” I said yes. Then He said, “Why are you not taking advantage of it?” At that moment, I realized that I hadn’t been, even though I believed it.
So, I began to deliberately ask, and things started changing drastically. The more I asked, the more I realized that over time, everything I had asked for was given to me. Some of these things didn’t happen overnight, but they all manifested at the right time.
In the same way, you too can ask and receive. The only question is, will you ask? Jesus said to His disciples, “Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full” (John 16:24, NKJV).
Whatever you desire today can be given to you, but you must ask according to His will, for it is written, “…if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us” (1 John 5:14, NKJV). Your request must be in line with His will, and you must ask in faith, without doubting. Why? Because the Bible says:
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. —James 1:6-8 (NKJV)
Hallelujah!
Today’s Rhema
If you are bold enough to ask, He is faithful enough to grant your request!
Confession for the Day
Thank you, Heavenly Father, for reminding me of the reality of Your Word. I choose therefore to ask, seek, and knock. As I do these things, I am getting the answers that I desire, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
