“….But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you….” Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)
Hurray! It’s a brand new year and I welcome you to another wonderful year. But the big question is, where should you start from? For some people they just want to continue their normal way life, while a lot others would want to pursue their new year resolutions. But this is not the first thing to do at this time. The first thing to do is to start with God. In other words, make a conscious decision to camp with God this season.
As much as it is important to pursue your dreams and goals, you need to understand that God has His own dream and goals for you this year. And it is your alignment with His dreams and goals for you, that is what helps you to fulfill your own dreams and goals. The Bible says, “….seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you….” Matthew 6:33 (NKJV). Sadly, the mistake many of God’s people make is that they start pursuing their own goals instead of God’s own and at the end of the year, they discover that they have achieved nothing.
Beloved, this year, I urge you to avoid making such mistakes. Now that it is still early, start with God and the way to do that is to camp with God this season. Make a determined decision to spend more time in prayers and studies of the word of God. You might say, but is this compulsory? Yes it is, because the word of God is God Himself (John 1:1-2), and when you study His word, you are fellowshipping with God and it is this fellowship, that He will unveil the very plans and purpose of God for your life this year. It is this fellowship that reveals the steps you need to take to fulfill God’s plans and purpose for you for the year. Therefore, start now and start with God. The benefits are endless. God bless you!
