“…when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days…” Daniel 6:10 (NKJV)

The subject of prayers is a very vast one and the more you learn about it, the more you get better at it. The more you learn about it, the more results you get from it. Therefore, you must keep learning about it and applying the things you have learnt about it. Now, one of those things that you ought to learn about prayer is; cultivating the habit of praying at least twice a day. It is a practice we ought to carry out not once but a minimum of twice every day. You might say but why is this so? Well, it is simple. It strengthens your relationship with God, positions you every day for the days ahead and keeps you away from situations that will bring you harm. Even praying once for them is a big issue. Some people don’t pray at all and if you are in this category, I want to encourage you to consider developing yourself now in this area because one day your life might depend on it.

In our opening text, we see how Daniel prayed three times a day as was his custom. He developed himself to spend time with God three times a day and guess what? He was a very successful man. He experienced promotions like never before and enjoyed unusual protection. On one occasion when he was thrown into the Lion’s den (Daniel 6:1-28), He came out alive and nothing happened to him because he was a man of prayer. King David too had so much success as a young lad and as a King, because he was a man of prayer. These people cultivated the habit of praying often and so when they found themselves in certain situations, it was easy to pray themselves out. Therefore, make a conscious decision to pray at least twice every day. Don’t allow prayer to be difficult for you. It is communication between you and your father, God almighty and it shouldn’t be a problem. Learn to approach Him often and just have a nice discussion with Him as a Son would do to his earthly father. When you do this often, His influence will grow mightily in your life and nothing shall be able to stand you or defeat you. Demonic manipulations and oppressions will cease to exist in your life because you are a man of prayers. Praise God!

Confession for the Day

Gracious King, I thank you for the privilege you have given me in Christ Jesus to have access to your throne, anytime any day. I take advantage of this privilege and I choose to pray often every day, knowing that you are always there to grant me audience and grant me answers to my prayers. I am grateful Father in Jesus name! Amen
