“…and there wasted his possessions on prodigal living….”- Luke 15:13 (NKJV)
Beloved, as you receive God’s blessings in your life, one of the things you must do for yourself is to learn how to manage the blessings God is bringing to you, so that you can secure your tomorrow. In our opening scripture when you read from verse eleven of the book of Luke chapter fifteen, the bible gives an account of a certain man who had two sons. And one day the younger of them said to his father, “Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.”…So he divided to them His livelihood. And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living…” (Luke 15:12-14).
He got his own share of the goods quite alright but he could not put it to good use and when the money was over the Bible recorded that he began to be in want. Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine…”- Luke 15:14-15 why did this happen to him? Well, the answer is simple. It happened to him because he did not manage the blessings that came to him, and therefore he had no choice but to feed swine. His condition became so terrible to the point that he began to eat what the pigs were eating. And this is what happens when abundance is not properly managed. Sadly, this is where many people have found themselves. Because they did not manage the blessing of yesterday, they are now feeding from hand to mouth which is not God’s plan for their lives. Beloved, it is imperative for you to know that it matters what you do with the possessions that God blesses you with. If you do not learn the art of managing what God brings to you today, it will be difficult the difficult times ahead. So, make a conscious decision to manage the blessings that God is bringing to your life today.
