“…Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown and gathering where you have scattered seed. And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground…” Matthew 25:24-25 (NKJV)
There are many whose language is only that of regret. And it starts with, “If only I was or if only I had.” If only I had gone to school, my life would have been better.” Or “if only I had received that promotion I prayed for, my salary would have increased.” Or “If only I was elected as the governor of the state, I would have made my state better.” Or “If only I got that job, I wouldn’t be sitting at home today.” If only I had gotten the USA visa, I would be working in a good company and I would be enjoying my life right now” Or “Oh! My current situation is because I don’t have better opportunities! If only I had the opportunity, I would have done more.” If only! If only! And if only! This is the language of the man who considers himself disadvantaged. He is always wanting what he never got and always blames other people for things he could not achieve. But the question is, is this how God wants us to live our lives? The answer is a big No.
Beloved, you must understand that no matter what we face or go through in life, God does not want us to have regrets. The reason for this is because when all you have is regrets, you will not make any visible progress because regrets do not change the situation, we find ourselves in. Instead, it makes it worse. As a matter of fact, if you do not control it, it could even throw you deep into the well of depression which is not God’s plan for your life. Therefore, the best way to live your life is to have no regrets. It is true you may have made many mistakes; it is true you may have made the wrong call and things went south but trust me regretting your actions won’t change anything. What will change things is to learn from your mistakes, arm yourself with it and move on. Until you move on, you will not be positioned for the next big thing that God has in store for you. So, I admonish you today to let go of the past. Forget about what has happened, take advantage of the experience you have had and use it to your own benefit. If you do this, you will be amazed at how quickly you will be coming out of negative situations and moving on with your life with a joyful spirit. Praise God!

Confession for the Day
Dear Holy Father! Thank you for opening my eyes today. Help me, to delete every regrets in my life. Help me not to give excuses for the things I couldn’t achieve. Help me, to take advantage of where you have kept me and the things you have given me. And help me to produce results in all I do in the name of Jesus. Amen!
