“…ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, to him who knocks it will be opened…” —Matthew 7:7-8 (NKJV)

Previously, we established the importance of going to God first before man. Now I want to emphasize the fact that this should become a constant practice and a habit in your life. Most times, the reason people prefer to go to men first is that it has become a habit. They do it impulsively. It’s not like they are purposely ignoring God, but this is the response they have trained themselves to have over the years. But you see, the fact that it is something that has been done in ignorance for a long time does not make it right. It is for this reason that God wants you to change it now so that you can begin to get better results and not be disappointed by unfulfilled promises.

I understand that sometimes, the pressures of life can mount high, but you have to cultivate the habit of seeking God first for help, rather than man who may fail you. You need to understand that our Christian walk is a walk of faith and to have the best kind of life is to depend solely on God because, in the long run, He is the only one who can truly satisfy you with all you require and desire.

Therefore, set your heart on God and go to Him first because He is faithful and just to answer you speedily and, in His time. He has said, “…call to Me, and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know…” Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV). The question is, are you willing to go to God first? Remember, “…blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green and will not be anxious in the year of drought. Nor will cease from yielding fruit….” Jeremiah 17:8. God bless you!

Today’s Rhema

Every time you don’t go to God first for your desires, you demonstrate your lack of trust in Him and weaken the muscles of your faith!

Confession for the Day

Thank you, heavenly Father, for revealing to me the truth in your Word, I thank you for letting me know the dangers of going to a man first instead of coming to you. Therefore, I declare that my focus will be on you and you alone, and every move I make will be to you first before any other move in the name of Jesus. Amen
