FOCUS ON THE APPROVAL OF GOD NOT MEN

“…does this sound as if I am trying to win human approval? No indeed! What I want is God’s approval! Am I trying to be popular with people? If I were still trying to do so, I would not be a servant of Christ…” Galatians 1:10 (GNB)

In the above scripture, Paul the apostle gives us a mindset that we ought to possess as Christians in our society today. He said, he is not trying to win the approval of men but God’s approval. He came to understand that in the long run, what matters most in life is not the approval of men but the approval of God. If you can get a hold of this truth, your life will not remain the same.

For so many years, many of God’s people have spent their time trying to please men and seek their approval. They try to live in a certain way or make certain decisions just because they want men to approve of them, unknown to them that it is just a waste of time. Because the approval of men is shallow and does not endure. One moment they can approve of you and the next moment turn against you. It is only God’s approval that endures and stands the test of time. Even when you have blown things up, God still holds you in high esteem, because God does not relate with you based on your performance but on His grace and mercy. 

Therefore, why waste time trying to impress one man somewhere? No matter how you try, men will still speak ill of you and turn against you. So, what is the point? The best thing you can do for yourself as a child of God is to focus on pleasing God because it is His approval that matters most. Try to know what He wants from you per-time and work on pleasing Him with all your heart. As for men, don’t sweat it, don’t try to impress or please anyone but maintain a good name amongst men for “…a good name is more desirable than great riches…” Proverbs 22:1 (NIV). And most importantly love all men, for it is written “…owe no one anything except to love another…” Romans 13:8 (NKJV). Praise God!

TODAY’S RHEMA 

Man’s approval is only but for a moment but the approval of God endures and stands the test of time!

Thank you heavenly father for setting me apart and placing such a high value on me. Thank you for approving of me, even in my weakness and ignorance. I declare that I love you and will always live my life to please you now and all the days of my life in the name of Jesus. Amen!
