An old bible on a wooden table

“For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring.” — Isaiah 44:3 (NKJV)
“…Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.” — Matthew 4:4 (NKJV)

In the first part of this article, we emphasized the need to develop an interest in God’s Word. Now, you may ask, “Why so much emphasis on God’s Word?” It’s simple: the Word of God is foundational to our faith. If you want to know more about God and live the life He has called you to, you must prioritize His Word. It serves as the light we need in a dark world and the map that guides us to the destination God has planned for us. The truth is, you and the Word of God are inseparable, for you were born of the Word (1 Peter 1:23), and your success in life depends on living by that Word.

Therefore, cultivate a hunger for God’s Word, and take delight in it because the rewards are great. The Bible says, “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law, he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.” — Psalm 1:1-2 (NKJV) Hallelujah! Did you see that?

As you begin to crave the Word of God, be prepared for distractions from the enemy, who will try to hinder your focus. However, your responsibility is to resist these distractions and press on. Once you overcome this phase, you will gain mastery over such tactics and rise above them. So, today, develop a keen interest in God’s Word, and watch Him lift you from glory to glory. Praise God!
