“…Oh Lord God, You have begun to show your servant Your greatness and Your strong hand; for what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do such works and mighty acts as Yours?” Deuteronomy 3:24 (KJV)

When your life is easy, and everything surrounding you seems to be going smoothly, there is always this temptation to think that you don’t need God or His power in life. But the truth is that, no matter how comfortable you may be, you must always realize that it is God that made it possible and to sustain it you need to hold on to Him tenaciously. Sadly, that is not the approach many people follow today. Many have unconsciously put their faith and hope in men and money, so instead of looking up to God for sustenance and consistent progress, they put their hope in what money and men can do, and when nothing changes in their lives and situation, they get really disappointed. But you see that is what usually happens, when you do not depend solely on God.

Beloved, if you truly want to see God come through in your life, you must learn to look away from the solution man and money can give to you because such solutions are limited. If you are such a man who has put his hope in money, or friends or connections, in the past, permit me to inform you that you will surely be disappointed. Money can’t change all situations. I mean there are situations beyond money and there are situations beyond connections. We see such situations in the days of King David when his son Absalom decided to steal the throne from his father. He made himself king while David was still alive. The Bible recorded that, “Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel saying, “As soon as you hear the sound of the trumpet then you shall say, ‘Absalom reigns in Hebron!’ “2 Samuel 15:10 (NKJV). At that time, King David had no one else to save him but God. So when He prayed, God saved him from the plans of Absalom. Today, God is waiting for you to completely depend on him to save you and no one else. If you set your faith on Him for that difficulty you have been going through in your life, He will surely come through in your life because He alone knows how best to give you a solution. Remember no one else but God can get the job done. So as you journey in your walk with God, make a conscious decision to keep your focus on God and let Him be your defense and refuge. If you can do this, you will surely not be disappointed. Hallelujah! Praise God!

Confession for the Day

Glorious Father, I thank you, for the grace and mercy that I enjoy. I thank you for being my all and being there for me every time that I need you. I decree that my focus will continually be on you and your word and nothing shall take my eyes of you in Jesus name. Amen!
