“…do not let kindness and truth leave you. Bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart…” Proverbs 3:3 (NASB)
Kindness is something we learn and develop. While no one is born kind, we can all cultivate kindness. As Christians, God wants us to be kind because it is in God’s nature to be kind. By being kind, we reflect the true nature of our Heavenly Father. Our God is kind and compassionate and ever-ready to forgive us when we seek forgiveness, regardless of our mistakes.
Kindness doesn’t choose who to be kind to. You don’t choose to be kind to someone, and unkind to another; you should be kind to people at all times because it is your character. Do not show kindness because you are expecting something in return. When you are kind to others, it is God that repays.. The Bible says, “…love your enemies, and do well, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He is kind to ungrateful and evil men.” Luke 6:35 (NASB).
So, show kindness expecting nothing in return from anybody, because it is the nature of God which He has put within you. And it is expected that every Christian acts like God. As humans, we have done several things which have made us unqualified for God’s kindness. Yet, God demonstrated the ultimate act of kindness by sending His Son to die for our sins.
So what are you waiting for? Start your acts of kindness today, and who knows what impact you could make?. God bless you!
