“…the younger son said to his father, ‘Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.’…Not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country,
and there wasted his possession on prodigal living…” —Luke 15:12-13 (NKJV)
Beloved, are you wasting the blessings of God in your life? This question might sound strange, but it is to help us take stock of our lives and see if we are putting the blessings of God in our lives to good use. The truth remains that if you are not putting the blessings of God to good use, a time will come when you will be in need because you wasted the blessings of God instead of multiplying them. As you journey in life, you must understand that God wants you to be a good steward of His blessings in your life. Interestingly, when you manage the blessings of God faithfully, you reap the benefits in the long run. Sadly, many of God’s people today are literally wasting the blessings of God on frivolous things, which shouldn’t be the case.
A young man in the Bible who lived like this had a bitter story when the money he got from his father got exhausted. The Bible records that, ‘…after a few days the younger son sold his part of the property and left home with the money. He went to a country far away, where he wasted his money in reckless living. He spent everything he had. Then a severe famine spread over that country and he was left without a thing…”— Luke 15:13-14 (GNT). Did you see that? This was a young man who left the house with a lot of wealth but in the long run, he ended up without anything. This is a major lesson we ought to learn from his story. So, as a believer, you must become conscious of what you are doing with the blessings of God. Make a conscious decision to invest God’s blessings in His work and also in other endeavours that will bring you good returns. It is true that there are people who invested in some businesses and went bankrupt but the greater truth remains that if they keep going in this direction, they will surely get it right someday. Hallelujah!

As long as you do not deliberately invest God’s blessings in your life, you may end up without anything!
Confession for the Day
The wisdom to manage God’s blessings is at work in me; therefore, I am making good use of God’s blessings in my life and no matter what happens, I will not fall into the trap of wasting the blessings of God in Jesus name. Amen!
