“…Hear, O earth! Behold, I will certainly bring calamity on these people— The fruit of their thoughts, Because they have not heeded My words Nor My law, but rejected it…” Jeremiah 6:19 (NKJV)
In the first part of this article, we established the fact that our thoughts bear fruits, and they can either bear the right fruits or the wrong fruits. Now, someone might say how then do I make my thoughts bear the right fruits all the time? Well, it is simple! Our thoughts are formed by the information that we allow to get into our hearts. If you keep allowing negative information to get into your heart, it will build up and begin to form your thoughts. For example, if you are the type that is always reading newspapers and jumping from one blog to another, looking for the latest news to feed on, you will end up with negative thoughts because none of those things you are reading edifies you or builds up your faith. Instead, they weaken your faith and cause fear to rise within you. So, to avoid this, it is better you feed on faith filled materials.
Spend time to study God’s word and other Christian materials. Meditate on them and adopt the mindset that these materials communicate. When you do this regularly, your thoughts will become positive thoughts and bear the right fruits because your information is from God and not the world. Worldly information will keep you informed and full of fear but the information from God will transform your life and make you strong in faith. So, as you journey in your Christian walk, it is important that you avoid materials that will stir up fear and insecurity in your heart. Avoid materials that amplify the work of the devil and his cohorts. Focus more on materials that exalts the work of God and strengthens your faith in Him. When you make this a daily routine, your thoughts will always produce the right fruits and even when the devil tries to bring the wrong thoughts into your heart, you just need to rebuke it and it will be taken care of. So, I admonish you to take this counsel very seriously, remember the Bible says “Keep thy heart with all diligence; For out of it are the issues of life…” Proverbs 4:23 (ASV). Meaning, if you are careful about what goes into your heart, then your thoughts will be a positive one. Therefore, begin today to start to feed on God’s word and watch your life take on a new shape. Praise God!
