The door of light to another space.

“…the young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?” Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven, and come, follow me…” Matthew 19:20-21(NKJV)

In the opening scripture, we see a young man asking Jesus what he must do to receive eternal life. The answer he got from Jesus shocked him. The Lord told him to give all he had to the poor and follow him. This meant that the man would not hold on to his riches or his great possessions, but would become a follower of Jesus Christ as he went from village to village preaching the gospel and the kingdom of heaven. And the young man could not accept it.

We must know that we have an eternal purpose here on earth, and that purpose is to do the will of the Father, that purpose is to follow our Lord Jesus Christ in the manner of life He had, the gospel He preached and the miracles He did, which means following Jesus in all things shows that we have attained perfection. It means we have entered into our main purpose on earth. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good to have money, because money is the currency that the world understands, and it’s good to have great possessions too, but after you have gathered them all, what next? What will you do with them? How will you enjoy them if your purpose for living does not include following the Lord? How do you get satisfaction in life, if you do not include the master? A good look at the young man’s story in the opening text, shows us that he was wealthy, but the question is, why was he searching for eternal life? Because with all his riches he had, there was in him, a hunger and a yearning that only God could satisfy. He wanted satisfaction, but he could not do what was necessary to attain it. We are not expected to behave like the rich young man who could not put all aside and follow the Lord. You can be like Peter, James and John, who left all they had and started to follow Jesus. You can follow Jesus today with your life, and you will find yourself attaining your eternal purpose in life. Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

Follow the Lord with your life and you will be a perfect man!

Confession for the Day

Holy Father we bless your name, we worship you, and we say besides thee oh God there is no other God. And we henceforth declare that you are worthy, and our very existence means nothing if you are not a part of it. Therefore I will follow you all the days of my life. Amen!
