“…and Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth? And Philip said to Him, “Come and see…” John 1:46 (NKJV)

When Nathaniel was told that a prophet was in town and this prophet was from Nazareth, he couldn’t believe it because he felt nothing good could come out of Nazareth. There are times when people look down at you, they call you names and say you are good for nothing. Even when you try to come up with inspiring ideas, they shut you up, because they say to themselves, “he always has useless ideas”. Maybe you are studying this devotional, and you have given up on yourself, or your marriage, or on your career, or even on your parents or on your child, cheer up! Because something beautiful is about to come out of you. The world was once in complete darkness, but out of that darkness light came forth. And when light came, beauty and glory followed. Meaning that even if you have given up on your life and seem to think that nothing good can come out of your life you are very wrong.

You may be in that place right now where nothing is happening in your life, it might look as though you are good for nothing. Think again, even the waste paper basket has its usefulness, without which everywhere will be in complete disarray. Everyone needs it, and ends up paying money to get it. Now, if the wastebasket is that useful, it means everyone is useful and everything is meaningful, and nothing is useless, because everything has a light it can display that will brighten the world. So quit thinking you are nothing, quit thinking you can’t be anything, God has need for you and the world has need for you. Quit thinking it’s over; quit thinking there is nothing you can do. Don’t give up on your situations, don’t give up on anything, you can always bring up something new from something old that is already existing, because out of nothing light can shine. That business that is already crumbling you can bring it back to life; so don’t give up on it. That marriage that is not working out can begin to work out again. There is light in the darkness, it’s now your responsibility to locate the light and let it shine on you. Praise God!

Today’s Rhema

No matter how things may look hopeless right now in your life, you are useful and your light can still shine!

Confession for the Day

Dear Father, I thank you for the light you have created to shine in every corner of our lives. I thank you because I see the light now. Am not quitting on myself, am not quitting on anything, my light is coming out, and it’s shining brightly. Hallelujah!
