“…Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit… “Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV)
Do you know that any time you speak, you are sowing a seed? Do you know that your words have the capacity to bring forth? Well, in case you do not know, I am telling you now. Your words are not ordinary, they are encoded with the ability to produce life or death.
In our opening text, the Bible says “…Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit…” Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV). From this, you discover that our words are potent. Anytime you speak, you are sowing a seed that will surely grow and bring forth fruits in your life. So, the question is, what have you been saying about your life, business academics or marriage? Have you been speaking life or death into your destiny? As simple as this question might sound, it is a question that you have to ponder carefully so you can make necessary changes.
Over the years, many have sown the wrong seeds into their lives through careless utterances. They complain and murmur about everything and at the end of the day, things get worse because they had been sowing the wrong seeds through their complaints and murmurings. But this shouldn’t be your case. You have to make a conscious decision today, to say the right things about your life and destiny. And when you speak, do not speak based on what you are going through; rather, speak in the direction of the harvest you want to see in your life. Remember, when you speak, you are sowing. So become careful with your words, avoid speaking pain or failure; start speaking in the direction that will bring a harvest and beautify your life. Become deliberate about your words and use them to create the future you want to see. The Bible says, “…a man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; From the produce of his lips he shall be filled…” Proverbs 18:20 (NKJV). Never forget that.
