The Bible: Thirst no more

“…I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified…” Acts 20:32 (NKJV)

“I just feel tired of everything” “My zeal is burning low” My enthusiasm is drying up; I don’t know what else to do. I don’t even feel like coming to church or even praying at all” These and many more, you will hear from the lips of many people today as they wonder what is going on in their lives. Well, what you see there is the lack of God’s word in their lives. Whenever you begin to notice that you are lagging in zeal and losing passion for the things of God, it means that you are getting dry or deficient of God’s word. You need to feed on God’s word to get back on your feet. Most people have not come to understand that the word of God is fuel. They ignore the Word and do not take time to study and meditate on it. So, they get dried up and wonder what went wrong.

However, if you do not want to get to this state in your life, make up your mind to study and meditate on the word of God all the time. If it becomes a part of you, it keeps your faith strengthened and your hope alive. Without the word of God, it is difficult to stay hopeful. It is the word that keeps you going. It is the word that helps you continue to see possibilities instead of impossibilities.

So, I encourage you to do the necessary today. As oil is to a car engine, so is the Word of God to your spirit, soul and body. It keeps your whole being in shape and alive, ready to confront life and its challenges. Do not ignore the word of God, but cherish it and give it a very important place in your life. It is the light you need in the dark (Psalms 190:130) and the strength to keep running. God bless you!

Today’s Rhema

As oil is to a car engine, so is the Word of God to your spirit, soul and body.

Confession for the Day

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for your love and mercy. I thank you for the ministry of your Word. I declare that as I submit myself to your word again and again, I am maintained in zeal and enthusiasm and all that I require to keep going on with a winning spirit is granted is granted me in the name of Jesus. Amen!
