“Instead, be kind and tender-hearted to one another, and forgive one another, as God has forgiven you through Christ.” —Ephesians 4:32 (GNT)
Beloved, do you know that when you do not forgive others, you are literally disobeying God? Are you aware that refusing to forgive is evidence that you are not walking in mercy? Sadly, many believers today are stuck in that place—so hurt that they cannot let go. They nurse grievances for weeks or months, replaying offenses in their minds. But the question remains: is this how God wants us to live? The answer is no.
Do you truly care about pleasing God and obeying His commands? If you do, forgiving others should not be so difficult. I used to struggle with forgiveness; when people offended or hurt me, I would dwell on it for a long time. The moment I recognized that unforgiveness is disobedience, I repented and began to change. It wasn’t instant, but obedience made the difference.
No matter how deeply you have been hurt, refusing to forgive is, in effect, offending God—because you are acting against His command. Why let another person’s offence cause you to offend the Lord? It makes no sense. Forgiveness does not require rocket science; it requires simple, obedient action. God says we should forgive—so choose to obey.
Today’s Rhema
