“…Strategic planning is the key to warfare; to win, you need a lot of good counsel…” —Proverbs 24:6 (MSG)
In a football organization, friendly matches are organized so that certain people can discover the tricks of their opponents, understand each other’s weaknesses and strengths. When a World Cup football match is set, a good coach piles up different videos of the teams playing against them, to study each player, so that he can pick the right team that can play against their opponents and give them a win. No football game is ever played without discovering your opponent, how he plays, and who his stars are. This helps every team to work with knowledge and better skills; otherwise, they would be confronting their opponents in ignorance. In the same way, every Christian must come to terms with the fact that we have an adversary who plays against us day and night. The adversary takes his time, to study and understand what can distract us, what can put fear in us, what he can use to make us unstable and so on.
Many people have lost focus, abandoned callings, and abandoned dreams because the adversary studied them well and knew just the right thing to say or the right move to make, for them to lose track. But what about you, my Christian brother? Are you observant of the trick the devil uses at you day in day out? Are you studying the adversary and the strategy he uses against you so that you can beat him at his game? Why do you think that when it is about that time that you really want to pray, you will find yourself engrossed in something that takes your time and distracts you from praying? Those are the strategy of the adversary. Why do you think, you come up with ideas that are against the plans of the visions that God has laid down for His end time plan? Because the adversary doesn’t want you to be a beneficiary of the blessings that follow those who follow the vision. My advice to you today, is to know the adversary, study and understand his strategy, resist him with the knowledge you gain from understanding his tricks and he won’t be able to play tricks with you. The Bible says, “Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” James 4:7(NIV).

Confession for the Day
Dear Father! We thank you for opening our eyes to see and gain wisdom. To know what is required of us to defeat the adversary, the tricks he uses to get at us, and how we can walk over every trick, and triumph over every plan the adversary has set. Thank you, Father! Amen!
