“…Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed: “Remember Lord, that I have served you faithfully and loyally and that I have always tried to do what you wanted me to.” And he began to cry bitterly…”2 Kings 20:2‭-‬3 (GNT)

Our opening text, speaks about the story of Hezekiah when he was told he was going to die and not recover from his sickness. The Bible records that turned his face to the wall and began to pray. He didn’t try to argue with the messenger of God who brought the news. He didn’t try to ask as many questions as some people would do today. He knew that his fight was not with the messenger. He knew that the solution was not in the hands of the one who brought the message. So, he accepted the message from the messenger and turned to the Lord in prayer.

Now, the question is, did it work? Oh yes, it did because the Bible records saying “….Isaiah left the king, but before he had passed through the central courtyard of the palace the Lord told him to go back to Hezekiah, ruler of the Lord’s people, and say to him, “I, the Lord, the God of your ancestor David, have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I will heal you, and in three days you will go to the Temple. I will let you live fifteen years longer. I will rescue you and this city Jerusalem from the emperor of Assyria. I will defend this city, for the sake of my own honor and because of the promise I made to my servant David….”2 Kings 20:4‭-‬6 (GNT). Did you see that? The moment he heard the message from the messenger, he turned to the owner of life, and guess what, his life was spared and he did not only get his healing, he lived for another fifteen years. Beloved, this is how we ought to respond when we are faced with situations that have come to pose a threat to our lives. You ought to turn to the Lord in faith and through an effective and heartfelt prayer, you will surely change things. So, be encouraged today to turn to the Lord in faith and never quit.

Today’s Rhema

Refuse to be discouraged by the circumstances that you go through, instead turn to the Lord in faith!

Confession for the Day

No matter what the devil brings my way, I refuse to be discouraged. No matter what the enemy has brought to confront my faith, I refuse to be moved because I know that as long as God is for me, I am coming out victoriously. Therefore, I choose to turn to God in faith and as I do my victory is secured in the name of Jesus. Amen!
