“…but I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation…”– —Psalm 13:5 (NKJV)
As you grow in the things of God, one of the things you must learn to do is trust in God’s unfailing love. In God’s love, you will find protection, provision, health, and everything else you need to live successfully in this world but you must learn to put your trust in this love and be confident that, come rain or shine, God’s love for you supersedes any challenge or difficulty that you may ever face. When you put your trust in God’s love, you cease to struggle or worry because you know in your spirit that all things work together for your good because you love God and you have been called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).
Sometimes the challenges of life can be so tough that some people start saying things like, “God has abandoned me” “God is angry at me” or “God is punishing me for my sins”. But statements like these are completely wrong because God is not like that. So many people have grown to have the wrong notion about God and so when the storms of life begin to blow, they start expressing their unbelief and distrust in God’s love by making such wrong comments.
God in His infinite mercy does not abandon anyone, in John 3:16, the Bible clearly states that “…God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” God paid the ultimate prize for you by sending His son to die for you and when He did this, He didn’t consider the wrongs that you did or the sins you committed but rather He poured out His love on you.
The Bible declares that God demonstrated His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us Romans 5:8. Now “He who did not withhold or spare (even) His own son, but gave Him up for us all- will He not also, with Him, freely and graciously give us all (other) things”– Romans 8:32 (AMP). So I encourage you today to put your trust in God’s unfailing love and know that nothing can separate you from the love of God. This was what Paul the apostle knew when he said “…I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord – Romans 8: 38-39 (amp)
