“…they found Adonibezek there and fought him. He ran away, but they chased him, caught him, and cut off his thumbs and big toes. Adonibezek said, “Seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off have picked up scraps under my table. God has now done to me what I did to them.” He was taken to Jerusalem, where he died….” Judges 1:5-7 (GNT)

Having established the need to give to others what you want others to give to you, it is important that you consider this truth very deeply and not joke with it at all. You know, sometimes it is easy to hear these things and think they don’t apply to you, but the truth remains that this is a law in nature that gets activated anytime you set it in motion. In our opening text, we see the story of a king named Adonibezek. He was a wicked man who cut the thumbs and toes of seventy kings and was using them to sweep scraps under his table. When he was doing this, it didn’t look as though such a thing would happen to him, but when it was time for his seeds to bear fruit, he was captured, and the same thing he did to others was done to him. The Bible says, “…they found Adonibezek there and fought him. He ran away, but they chased him, caught him, and cut off his thumbs and big toes…” Judges 1:5. When they did this to him, Adonibezek said, “Seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off have picked up scraps under my table. God has now done to me what I did to them.” He was taken to Jerusalem, where he died…” Judges 1:6-7 (GNT).

Take note of the part where he said, “God has done to me what I did to others”. He came to that realization, the moment his own thumbs and toes were cut off. This lets you know that what we put out there has a way of coming back to us. My question for you now is, What have you been putting out there? What have you been giving to others? How have you been treating others? I am asking this question so you can appreciate and consider your ways. If you haven’t been treating others right, now is a good time to have a rethink and start treating others nicely. Because, in truth, what you put out there is what determines what will come back to you. So, I encourage you today to be deliberate in your dealings. The Bible says, “…whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:12‬ (‭NKJV‬‬). The message translation puts it this way “….here is a simple, rule-of-thumb guide for behaviour: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you, then grab the initiative and do it for them. Add up God’s Law and Prophets and this is what you get.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:12‬ ‭(MSG‬‬). Hallelujah,

Today’s Rhema

What you put out there will surely find its way back to you; never forget that!

CONFESSION OF THE DAY

I am grateful for this eye-opening article. I choose this day to treat others right and I refuse to treat others wrongly. The nature of love is at work in me; therefore, as I put out love, I receive love in return in the name of Jesus. Amen!
