“For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” — (Galatians 5:14 NKJV)

I have often heard people say that the Ten Commandments no longer exist because our Lord Jesus Christ has paid the price for us. But that isn’t correct. The fact that Jesus paid the price does not abolish the law; rather, He distills it into one command. In our opening text, Paul reminds us that all the law is summed up in this one command: to love your neighbor as yourself. If you love your neighbor, you will not steal from him; if you love your neighbor, you will not commit murder or covet. Make a conscious decision to cultivate genuine love for others, and you will walk in the path God intends for every Christian.

But who is your neighbor? Is it only fellow believers, or does it include those of other faiths and backgrounds? Your neighbor is anyone you encounter—Christians, Muslims, pagans, and people of every worldview. When you love them, you fulfill the Father’s expectation and become a vessel through which they discover their eternal destiny in Christ.

As Jesus Himself demonstrated, He did not come to die only for believers but for the whole world—that whoever believes in Him might have eternal life. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…” (John 3:16 NKJV). His sacrifice was fueled by boundless love for all humanity.

You have a responsibility to love as Jesus loved. The Scripture says, “Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” — (Romans 5:5 NKJV)

And Paul prays for us:

“And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.” — (Philippians 1:9–11 NKJV)

Let these truths guide your daily conduct. Love your neighbor as yourself, extending grace, compassion, and kindness to all.

Confession for the Day

Thank You, Heavenly Father, for pouring out Your love in my heart in great measure. Today, I choose to love as Jesus did, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, I will not harm my neighbor but will be an instrument of Your love and peace, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
