“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” — Isaiah 55:10-11 (NKJV)
We have been given a treasure of immeasurable value—the Word of God. In our opening text, we see the immense power of God’s Word to accomplish things. Through the prophet Isaiah, God explains that just as rain and snow fall from heaven, watering the earth and making it flourish, so also His Word never fails to fulfill what He intends. Wow! Just as the rain is essential for the farmer, leading to growth and harvest, God’s Word is vital for our lives—it guarantees results. Everything God’s Word declares will certainly come to pass because it’s backed by His power and His promise that it will never return void.
Let’s make it a point to remember what God has spoken over our lives. Dig into the Word and uncover the promises He’s made. The key to seeing the Word fulfilled in your life is to stay conscious of it. What you don’t know or remain unaware of, you can’t enjoy. I once told the brethren in church, “You are kings.” Some were puzzled, but that’s exactly what the Bible says: “…To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father; to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” (Revelation 1:5b-6 NKJV). We are indeed kings, but those who don’t know this truth may live beneath their royal inheritance in Christ.
Understand this: God’s Word accomplishes things. Trust in it, and it will prosper you. Hold onto it, and it will save and make you. It’s the one truth that can truly transform your life. Praise God!
