The Price For All Of God Is All Of You

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” —Matthew 22:37 (GNT)

Over the years, I have been privileged to pastor various kinds of people. In the course of my pastoral work, I have discovered one thing that is common among many believers. They want God to do so much for them in their careers, marriages, finances, and families, but they are not willing to give to God the kind of commitment that they desire from Him.

When these expectations are not met, many people become offended at God. I have met individuals who blame God for literally everything they are going through in life. When you ask why they have reached such a conclusion, they often say that when they needed God the most, He was not there for them.

The real issue, however, is that when God was calling them to fellowship so that He could provide instructions and directions, they were nowhere to be found. Spiritual growth and manifestation do not work that way. If you truly want a certain level of commitment from God, you must be deliberate enough to give Him the level of commitment you are demanding from Him.

If you want all of God, you must be willing to give Him all of you. Please understand that this is not a mere trade by barter, because with or without your commitment, God can do anything for you. Yet the truth remains that as you go deeper in God, there are certain favors that can only be unlocked by specific levels of dedication.

Everything you are looking for in life has already been made available through His grace. There is nothing new God is trying to do, as He has already put things in place, but there are principles required to unlock them. One of those vital principles is commitment. There is a price for all of God, and that price is all of you.

Consider a man named Cornelius in the Bible. Although he was not yet saved, he loved God and was dedicated to Him. In the course of his dedication, he unlocked a divine visitation that changed his household forever.

About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius!” And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, “What is it, Lord?” So he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God.” —Acts 10:3-4 (NKJV)

This account lets us know that there are depths in God that can change our lives, but they are accessible only to those who are deep in their walk with God. Even the things God has ordained for you to achieve can be hindered by a lack of dedication. It is possible to go through life and never become what God has ordained for you to be because you lacked the required commitment to the things He instructed you to do.

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. —Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)

There is a diligence factor in the spiritual equation. Just as it takes diligence to get the attention of kings and stand before them, it takes diligence to walk in the fullness of God’s plan. The question remains: do you have the kind of commitment needed to unlock the things you want from God? Think about this. Hallelujah!
