“…for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content…” Philippians 4:11 (NKJV)

One of the major lessons to be learnt as a Christian is to be content with whatever situation you are in and trust God for better things to come. The reason this is important is because true satisfaction comes from true contentment. If as a Christian you are not content with where you are or what you have, you will always find yourself, seeking for more in a negative way and trying to be like others at all cost when it is not yet time for you to attain or achieve certain things. Many in the past have put themselves under pressure and hurt themselves because they were not content with where they are. Some in trying to achieve what others have achieved, have killed themselves or hurt others or fallen into serious problems, because they were not content. They really wanted to be like their neighbor or achieve what their neighbor has achieved. But the truth is that life is not like that. If you try to achieve what your neighbor has achieved or attain what they have attained, you might end up missing your real opportunities in life and losing out on God’s plan for your life.

So it is important that you train yourself to be content with what you have and where you are. Now, this does not mean you shouldn’t dream big but in the process, seek God’s plan for your life and follow His timing for the perfection of this plan. You must understand that, we all don’t have the same timings for achievement. Therefore, the fact that a neighbor has achieved or attained certain positions in life, doesn’t mean you should achieve the same thing at the same time. Your own time will come but until then, don’t be under pressure or competition to achieve like your neighbor. Be content and appreciate where you are and what you have and believe in God for the fulfillment of your own dreams and goals. Why? Because this is the best kind of life. So do the needful and you will be amazed how things will fall in place for you. Praise God!

True satisfaction comes from true contentment

Confession for the Day

I have been called to live a life of contentment, therefore I chose to be content in all that I do and in whatever situation I have found myself. I refuse to be under pressure because of another man’s success because I know that I have my own destiny and my time will surely come. Praise God!
