Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. —Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV)

Because of how the story of Jesus has been told over the centuries, many people now believe that the miracles He performed were only for a different time in history. When you talk to them about Jesus, they think of His works as ancient stories that no longer apply. Why? Because they’ve become conditioned by the limitations of the natural world and can’t seem to believe in the supernatural anymore. As a result, many still doubt that miracles are real. They simply can’t imagine that the same things Jesus did back then can still happen today.

But if you’re in that category, I have good news for you: Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever—and so are His works. The same miracles He performed two thousand years ago are still happening today. He still heals the sick, raises the dead, opens blind eyes, and restores lives in unimaginable ways. His glorious ascension didn’t remove Him from the world; He’s still very much alive and working through His Spirit.

The question is, do you believe this? Can you trust Him the same way those in Bible days did? If you study the Gospels, you’ll notice that everyone who received their miracle from Jesus had one thing in common—they believed. Today, however, many struggle to believe because they can’t see Him physically. What they don’t realize is that though He’s not physically present, He’s spiritually present in us and with us through the Holy Spirit. If you’ll just believe Him for a miracle, you’ll experience it too.

So, come to terms with this truth: Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. The works He did then, He’s still doing now. The only question is—what can you trust Him for? Can you trust Him to fix your marriage, heal your body, restore your finances, or open new doors of opportunity? If you can, then be ready for a miracle. But if you doubt, remember what Scripture says: “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting… For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord.” —James 1:6–8 (NKJV)
