“…Since all these things will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people should you be? Your lives should be holy and dedicated to God…”2 Peter 3:11 (GNT)
Our world today is increasingly going through a moral decadence. More and more people are departing from the ways of God because they have conformed to the world’s ways of doing things. They see it as a normal way of living. What God calls evil is now good and what God calls good is now evil. But the question is, is this how God wants us to live our lives? The answer is a big No.
Beloved, no matter how pleasant and appealing the things of the world may look, God does not want us going in that direction and the reason is because “…friendship with the world is enmity with God…”James 4:4 (NKJV)
So, how does God want us to live our lives? It’s straightforward; our opening text says, “…Since all these things will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people should you be? Your lives should be holy and dedicated to God…”2 Peter 3:11 (GNT). Did you see that? God wants us to be holy (set apart) and dedicated to Him. God wants us to be set apart and not indulge ourselves with worldly ways of doing things. God does not want us to conform to the world’s ways of doing things. When we go down the path God wants us to take, the result is life and life in abundance. So, I encourage you to become conscious of this and set yourself apart, just as God has set you apart from the world. Be dedicated to God and love your life for Him. Praise God!
