“Stop toiling and doing and producing for the food that perishes and decomposes (in the using), but strive and work and produce rather for the (lasting) food which endures (continually) unto life eternal.” — John 6:27 (AMPC)

One of the most crucial aspects of life is how you invest your time and energy. Many people spend their lives on careers, social engagements, or worldly achievements, which may seem important by society’s standards. However, in the grand scheme of eternity, these pursuits ultimately amount to nothing. When we leave this world, the things we invested in that had no eternal value will no longer matter. The only things that will matter are the investments we made with eternal significance. If a person’s life is not invested in eternal things, they will have nothing to show for the time spent on earth.

As a Christian, it’s essential to understand the importance of investing your life in things that carry eternal value. The only work that yields eternal rewards is the work of God’s Kingdom. Whether we acknowledge it or not, God’s plan for this world is already unfolding. The world will pass away, and His Kingdom will be established on the new earth. Those who invested their lives in Kingdom work will be the ones to reap eternal rewards when that time comes.

So, I ask you: What have you been investing your life in? Are your current pursuits bringing you eternal benefits? If not, it’s time to make changes. You can make mistakes in other areas of life, but to waste your entire life on things that don’t matter for eternity is a great loss. Therefore, if you want to make your life count, surrender it to God and commit to doing His work. Hallelujah!
